all I can say is the most helpful resource for C++ I ever used was this:
http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/

ofc u can read help on ur compiler... and see how to get the codes going.. but once u do its a quick way to learn frm this tutorial...
and I used to use Microsoft's C++.... the .NET one..
