I stared some... a few minutes left I guess... hurriedly stared some more... do random calculations or something... some formula... anything... think.... use those grey cells....

Same here hahaa...the paper was lengthy and i had 1 min. left with three un answered questions including this..i went with a guess and felt 480 looks lik³ a good no. so i chose it hahahaa

Yeah... how is 10^2 the answer?
so the model was 1/10 of original size
we know that young modulus = stress/strain
Y = (F/A)/(X/L) F=force, A=area, x=extension, L = original length
Y = FL/AX
X= FL/AY
so the dimensions of the load is shrinked by 1/10, so volume is 1/1000. density is the same so mass is 1/1000 and weight (force) is 1/1000
the original length is shrinked by 1/10
Area is shrinked by 1/100 because area = λr^2 and each r is 1/10 so 1/100
in short
F/1000
L/10
A/100
Y no change because same material

so X = (F/1000 x L/10 ) / (A/100 x Y) = FL/100AY
so original extension over new extension = 100

Yeah. Ik it's not impossible (eg what you wrote) and though I HAD the general idea of the above, I admit time and pressure disallowed me from attempting the above.

thats actually just my goal
last year when I took my A levels I only got 4 A* 1A, 1B
6A* is my goal this year!

And I seriously hope you won't mind when I ask you if I can bother u in the future. I've to say I decided to perform an "experiment" this year, by adopting a "laid-back" attitude after all these years.
And yeah - the only time I decide to take a risk in studies turns out to be... AS.
But I rejected the "experiment" before it got too late.

Hahaha... now that's called applying what you learn to ur life.
If i am to take it in A2, is it possible to take stats composite in a year?
yup its possible but I took stats 1 & 2 in 2 years for AS A2 level
I did take mechanics 3,4 stats 3,4 in 1 year though
