For the 5th question

I did it like this- part a) no restrictions-12P8 or 12!/4!- consider blank seats as repitition= 19958400
b) if we consider the 2 to be together, we form 11 blocks. - 11! Ways. However 4 blank seats so count that as repition
So 11!/4!. Now multiply by 2 as 2, within the first block there can be two arrangements so2*11!/4!= 3326400
Now subtract from part a to get 16632000
c) all 8 people together- consider them to be 0ne block. Within can be arranged in 8! Ways. Along with 4 other blocks can be arranged in 5! ways. However 4 repititions so 8!*5!/4!= 8!*5=201600

Is this correct?
Its absolutely right, i did the same and confirmed it with my teacher.(y)

Q1. (i) 0.5 x 0.2 =0.1
(ii) 0.02/0.60 = 0.0333
MARKS for Q1 = 4+1=5
Q2. (i) probability is 0.104 something. Data was (mean 6400, stdev 5200, in between 12000 n 10,000)
(ii) probability is 0.3088 something ( data, is same, find probability of less then zero profit (0.1091) then do binomial dist 4nCr1)
MARKS for Q2 = 3? +4= 7?
Q3.(i) the median was in range I forgot, maybe 15-20, while upper quartile was in range 25-40 I thnk.
(ii) frequency densities on y axis, time on x axis….simple.
(iiI) mean I got 22.008 min ~ 22.0 min.
MARKS for Q3 = 2+4+3=9?
Q4(i) mean 4 times st dev., st dev was 0.993, mean was 3.97.( data , p greater than 5 was 0.15.)
(ii) n=200, p=.85, q=.15, normal correction to 159.5 because ATLEAST 160 had to be less then 5. Answer was .984 about
MARKS for Q4 = 3+4= 7?
Q5 (a), with harry and tom = 10 x 84 =840, with out , 120 x 84 =10080. Total 10920.
12 boys, 9 girls, 3 each needed.
(b)(i)12!/(12-8)!=19958400
(ii) HATED this question…. I think my answer was ( 12!/6!)(10) = 6652800 ways they COULD be together so 19958400 – 6652800 =13305600
(iiI) 8! X 4 =161280
MARKS for Q5 = 3+ 1+3+3=10
Q6(i)prove…..10/64…..
(ii) fill the table…. The values all had denominators of 64 and were like 1,2, 4, 6, 9 etc, 12.
(iii) prove the events are independent or not!!!!! I thought they were independent as probability of one didn’t affect the other probability………..but I have no clue……
MARKS for Q6. = 3+5 ??? + 5?? =13 I am not sure if 5 marks were for table or both the table and last part.
Me expecting 44/45/46,,,… GT A=340, B= 35,

I think all your answers are correct and for the last question, You are given P(X=9) and all what you need is to calculate the P(product of 3 scores = 16) and multiply it by the later one and state that this is not equal to their intersection

What did you guys get for 4i where mean was equal to 4*standard deviation. i was mentally exhausted when i attempted this paper, especially in the 30 minutes. Had a bad day :( expecting 40-45 hopefully. Silverwing, Im giving P3 in may june. Its quite tough, esp vectors

all are correct with exception of 5b par ii and iii, where i made careless mistakes, and in the last part it was not independent, i did prove that 441 was common to both but couldnt express the equation.
