when do we consider this method of having P of 0=P of 10 and so on.Obviously it'll be only when p and q have same probability but still, maybe perhaps only when the h1 is not equal to?
we hab to apply dis method wen p=q...thats all!!!;)

90% ci is 1-0.9=O.1 0.1/2=0.05 ci 1-0.05=O.9 read reverse table at o.95 ie 1.645 its always this way for ci. We consider 1 tail two tail in sl. Sig level!

ok then in a similar context.can you please explain q7 part ii of oct 2004.Btw really appreciate your help.
thanks
EDIT:Why does the ms show the probability being calculated in a descending manner.Normall it should be from P(X>equal to 4 right? The examiner report does allow this method but has not elaborated on how to find the rejection rejection.

it is in descending manner becoz the alternative hypothesis is > 0.35.when there greater sign we hab to go from the largest value that is P(8).......Regarding the test, yes it should be P(X>equal to4).Use binomial distribution with p=0.35 and get ans 0.294 which is greater than 0.05. Hence Ho is accepted.
Sorry for late response..its becoz of loadsheilding problem..;)
