First plot the points and show them in an Argand Diagram, u has coordinates (-1,-1), and u^2 has coordinates (0,2). And the modulus numbers is the displacement from origin to those points, √2 and 2, and the argument of the numbers is the degree measure of the line segment joining the points with the origin, with the positive X-axis. So for the first condition, Take a compass, and separate the nib, and the pencil tip, 2 units apart on the graph paper: |z|<2 satisfied. And then for the second condition, join the points u and u^2 than draw the perpendicular bisector of the line. and then shade the region, which is made by the chord below. And use dotted lines for the circle, and the straight line ( The perpendicular bisector).
