Questions regarding english as second language

I am not trying to cheat or anything. I'm sitting for the exam tomorow and i have a few questions.

Our teacher told us that in notes making and summary we are expected to use our own words, but earlier i was looking at some past papers and found that the mark scheme answers for the notes making had the same phrases that were used in the package. So what should i do? use the same phrases or make my own words or what exaclty?

for notes we can use the phrases of the passage but for the summary itself we are required to use our own lang.
last night we were busy in our paper 1 prep.
