Q1 - The student wanted to carry out the experiment per every 2 minutes as the time intervals, hence a stopwatch with accuracy of such small time intervals was not required. Or another possible reason could have been that there would be very little temperature difference at such small time intervals of 0.01s.
Q2 - Since the temperature gradient had become constant once the water had reached room temperature OR there came a point when the heat energy lost by the water became equal to the heat energy gained by it due to the surrounding temperature.
Q3 - By using a rule with set squares placed along the scale, and by placing the light of sight perpendicular to the scale reading when noting down the measurements in order to avoid parallax error.
Q4 - By using a fiducial marker, which acts as a reference point in order to help when to start and stop the stopwatch so that the human reaction error can be minimized.
Q5 - The magnet had now become demagnetized and polarized with uni-polarity OR the magnetic domains of the magnet had become dis-aligned due to the presence of other magnets in the drawer OR it is also possible that the compass was faulty and led to an error in the concluding results of the experiment.

plotting compass. the diagram was in the book.
you had to show how you find the magnetic fields.

To improve the experiment, use pendulums of different lenght and calculate their time periods. Then plot a graph of different values of 4pi^2l and T^2 and the gradient of the graph will give us g.

Q. How could length 'l' be more accurate? use micrometer to measure the radius of the bob, calculate length of string by meterrule and add to it.
Q. How could you improve the experiment? use longer string, lower the support so that bob is just a little ablove ground
And Q. Why were both poles south? bcz bar was demagnetised and it was being magnetised by magnetic induction of the compass north needle

and for the 0.01 i wrote that the rate of temperature difference is high?

outside the stirrer, atleast 1/3rd immersed.
and for clamp im not sure but i wrote that it should be used to keep it steady which the student wont be able to do by hand.

It was not necessary to place it outside the stirrer, it could be placed inside the stirrer aswell but not TOUCHING the stirrer and as you said atleast 1/3rd immersed :)
Yes the second reason is correct, another reason could be to prevent the breaking of the thermometer or contact of the thermometer with the walls of the beaker whenever the water is stirred.

hey if i wrote that the students body temperature cud affect the reading.....would that be correct??
