Giving O level commerce & Environmental management in May/June 2014

I have a few questions:
1. How much time does it take to prepare for each of these subjects?
2. How exactly do you prepare (for people who have already given them) like do you just read,write down,or what?
3. Has anyone achieved distinction in these subjects? If so,what did you do?

Hey i appeared for both these subjects in nov. But couldnt prepare anything unfortunetly as i had to Leave the city just before the exams. I came back a week before the papers, i just skimmed through the Commerce book, everything was general knowledge. However john Pallister book of e.M was quite big and complex, being a business student i didnt know anything about the environment.
SO i just did 2 years of past papers with mark schemes. P2 was general knowledge but p1 was difficulyo.
However i got an A in commerce and a B in E.M
