Of course :) This is one of the most crucial topics.

  • DESRIBING FESTIVALS AND CARNIVALS *
Before you begin to write avoid festivals connected to religion or politics and choose ARRIVAL OF SPRING or FESTIVAL OF FLOWERS or NEW YEAR.
HERE ARE SOME STRONG VOCABLURY FOR DESCRIPTION USE IT IN YOUR WAY BUT DO NOT FORGET THAT:-
Introduction should include name, date and place.
Body should include decorations, costumes and food (set the scene) with atmosphere and activity.
The vocabulary
Streets are gorgeously decorated with..
People were dressed up in rousing costumes.
The weather couldn’t have been better.
Change these words with: Nice = exhilarating
Well dressed = handsomely dressed. Nice streets = picturesque streets Bright White = Gleaming white.
People flocked from all over the country in their thousands\hundreds in a festive\happy mood, they were dancing colorful folk dance keeping the same tradition alive\reflecting their pharonic culture.
The streets were gorgeously decorated with brightly colored bunting
Bright lights sparkled over the water as the fire works spread like a huge, colorful flower.
Colossal parades together glorify the festival I n the picturesque streets
We could see twinkling fairy lights
There was a dancing display dancing colorful folk dance with traditional costumes.
People brought refreshments from stalls.
Some of the children played tug of war.
What do you smell or taste? I could smell the frying onions\ taste candy floss or toffee apple.
Stalls were selling cotton candy and crep.
The floats moved on in the streets.
The carnival is all about fun and frolic.
People usually engage themselves in singing and dancing to the tunes of famous musicians.
People do best efforts to make the carnival a memorable one.
We decorate Cairo in a gorgeous way that makes everyone appreciate it.
What do you hear? Noise of music or marching bands maybe traditional instruments?
Conclusion must show feelings and comments.
Use happiness idioms.
Everyone seemed to be in high spirits.
I was part of exhilarations and excitement in Cairo’s festival.

SEMI FORMAL
Use rhetorical questions in an school magazine article introduction.
Use in the ending phrases as (To wrap up,…. – To put it in a nut shell……)
Do not use sophisticated language as Formal articles.
Use a convincing language with a few idioms.
IN A LETTER TO STUDENTS it should be semi formal also without short forms but also without passive.
