Q1...the ratio of N2O4:2NaOH is 1:2 so 0.02 mol of N2O4 means (2*0.02)=0.04 moles of NaOH
mole=vol * conc
vol=mol/con
0.04/0.5= 0.08 dm^3 * 1000 = 80cm^3
so its D

Q 6..least resembles ideal gas means deviates the most
so its ammonia, cuz of the strong intermolecular forces (hydrogen bonds) present.

Q11...its A acidify the pool
acidfy means adding H ions.
the more H ions area present, more HOCl will be made

Q19...its A
Nitrogen has triple bonds present...and high energy is needed to break these bonds
breakage of the bonds is an endothermic process and therefore there is a positive enthalpy change.

But doesn't the compound in D have a greater Mr? :S

And Question 12 too. :)

but ammonia has stronger intermolecular forces, which deviates ideal gas! we usually consider the intermolecular forces rather than molecular mass to find which one deviates more..

Q12...at 500K the reaction would be faster and therefore the curve will shift to the right...i.e. the solid line
while at 300K the curve will shift to the left...which is the dotted one..so its C

ammonia has H-bonds ....molecular mass just gives us an indication of magnitude of vdw forces

hey guys, I've problem with o/n 2010 paper 1 q4....any clue?

btw, for Q2, there are 3 possible combination of cl2 ions: 35,35 35,37 or 37,37. so the answer is B

thanks. I was just thinking, if it oxidised to so4 doesn't that means that its oxidation number becomes +8?

-----------ethanol + ethanoic acid = ethyl ethanoate + water
Initially------1 M---------1 M --------------- 0------------0
At equi ----(1-x) M-----(1-x) M------------ x M---------- x M

kc = x^2 / (1-x)^2 = 4
(x / 1-x )^ 2 = 4
x / 1-x =2
x = 2 - 2x
3x = 2
x = 2/3
