AS maths pastpaper question help!

can anyone find an inverse expression for this function pls. y=2x^2 -8x+10

Not sure, but I think you have change in the form (x-b)^2-a then you can inverse it..

ok, first find the vertex (-b/2a) x=2,y=2
now substitute these values in complete square form a(x-x)^2 + y, which becomes 2(x-2)^2 +2,
from here its much easier to get an inverse since all you have to do is send everything (except for x) to the other side, becomes = (y-2/2)^.5 +2,
and good luck on tmrw's exam

I am not good at explaining but hope it helps: you find the gradient of the line, then find the gradient of a perpendicular line, substitute the values of C in it to find the equation of the line passing throw C, Find the point of intersection of the two lines , then find how far is C from point of intersection and use it to find the mirror point.
