Are Grade thresholds true????

My friend got 172/200 in Environmental Management mocks... The paper v gave for IGs says that 138 is A*, but he got an A even though he got so much better in the mocks... plus he claims his IG paper was better.... this made me think if the thresholds are true???

Thresholds are true. That's how IGCSE give marks. However the schools check and give marks in a different way. My school gives an A* if the student gets 90% above. IGCSE doesn't do that.

Out of 160 is correct, they change it into % and then multiply is by 2. That's why it's out of 200.

NO guys its from 200 because we divide paper 6 by 3 so its out of 20 and paper 1 convert it to 30 and paper 3 to 50 % you will get a mark out of 100
Multiply that by 2 you will get your mark of 200
Anyway some people can ask for their grades in numbers so just work hard the highest thershold there is , is math since usually 175 - 188 out of 200
other than that sciences are wayy down
ICT is Kinda of High But its so easy
English , Arabic , Languges Well they vary but depends on your writing skills and grammer or whatever is in your syllabus
Thats It Ohh And for those who ask how i know the percentage check the mark scheme it mentions every weight of each paper

no its paper 1 40 marks , paper 6 40 marks and paper 2/3 80 marks most people dont do paper 5

P3 is 50%.....P1 is 30%...P6 is 20%
so p3 is 100 marks
p1 is 60 marks
p6 is 40 marks

Are you sure it's possible to get A* in Arabic First language with 79? Because I heard it's very hard since the treshold for arabic is usually high. Anyway, I hope I do get an A* lol.
