    Mechanics (brother of physics)

    Oh and question 7 ii.c v1−v=0.00005(t−200)^2−1 so if you put t = 0, you get v1 - v = 1 and for t = 400, you get v1 - v = -1 remember v1 - v is a quadratic function, so in the range 0<= t <= 400, -1 is a minimum value and this is no other minimum in between, and +1 is a maximum value of v1 - v...

    Mechanics (brother of physics)

    question 6 i. work done by driving force - work done against resistance to motion = change in kinetic energy + change in gravitational potential energy (learn this by heart for this exam) OK, so, work done by driving force = 1200000 J ; work done against resistance = 1240X (where X is the...

    Mechanics PAPER 5 (not AS): Post your questions

    Hi, A2 friends! I know you could've posted mechanics questions in the Mathematics thread pinned in the forum but it just gets lost (as it often happens) in a sea of lot of other questions. So, I thought you could post them here instead and I'll try to help answering them as promptly as I can! :)

    How was your chemistry p5 ?

    The thing about this exam was that it was OK but question 1 was demanding in the sense that you had to be very fussy about detail and an awful amount of effort had to be put on planning. I nailed question 2 however (which I hope I did :P ). Nonetheless, fingers crossed! Hoping everyone does well...

    Physics Paper 12 How was it

    The resultant force from ice will be vertically upwards coz the only force acting will be the reaction force from FRICTIONLES ICE. So it will be B. :)

    AS Physics P1 MCQs Preparation Thread.

    1st question: Now, for 3 springs in parallel, the extension is x. So the extension for a SINGLE spring would have been 3x for a load of W. NOW, for 2 springs in parallel the extension for a load of W = 3x/2 now, FOR A LOAD OF 2W the extension for those 2 springs would quite obviously be 2* 3x/2=...

    AS Physics P1 MCQs Preparation Thread.

    At O a maximum is observed. Now, u r moving the detector up to X. A MINIMUM is observed at X since the question says no signal is detected here. So what do we know? At minima, the path difference of two waves falling on a point is (n+ 1/2)*lambda, where n is the number of orders of dark...

    June 11 session: 16. Total anticlockwise moment about the hinge = total clockwise moment about the hinge => 2Fsin30*x = 10x => F= 10 19. Assuming, no energy is lost as heat, work done on the nail= 10J (kinetic energy is lost = work done on the nail by the wood ;) ) so, force...
