Hello everyone.... Any tips for these two papers? I cant get more than 32/40 in phys and 29/40 in chem... I really need AT LEAST 34/40 and I dunno how to prepare expect for doing past pprs and correcting those problems.... Any help is appreciated...
I cant go though the book again... Its so boring.... I'll do it on last day with revision of difficult mcqs.
We can even share difficult mcqs here too...!!
For example.... Idk the ans of these qstn ._. :

Okay speed is not changing but where did EPE came from?

Wow and your still not satisfied miss / ma'am haha I think your better then us I mean most of us so be glad anyways the second question regarding GPE I've come across tat before and idk too
But guys any ideas how to get your timing straight ? How do you guys go about paper I mean it's 1 hour of misery so the time is really on the mind when we go about it . But what I do is go through the easies but I sometimes loose marks there so being careful ticks time haha :3 ya Allah rehm ..... Any ideas guys ?

Idk if this is correct or not but they said that constant rate so ... K.E is wrt to an object or a something lol but when we consider in that case the water flows w.r.t the space (pipe) that holds it . So it's not the presence of the thing /molecules that is influenced I.e constant K.E but due to the gradient of the pipe the water molecules influenced Down due to EPE . But the constant speed thing makes sense so hahaha :3

P.E = consider the fact that internal energy = kinetic energy + potential energy. In this case since water is going down, some of the particles will definitely evaporate and thus as the state changes from liquid to gas , potential energy is gained.

As for the other question it should be D.
Take negative terminal as 0V and positive as 24V.
If at X the pd is 24V there cannot be a break in the positive section of wire. So A is wrong.
Option C is also wrong since, if there was a break within the motor, the potential at Y should have been 0V.
Now there is B and D left. In both cases the negative wire is broken. No current flows through this "circuit", since the wire is cut. There is no reason why the potential at Y should be less than 24V, since the cut is later, and the motor has no pd since I=0 (so IR =0), so motor doesn't reduce pd.

Really?I just did that and got 36.Just remember to focus,read every question carefully and fully use your time while practising.

I practiced so much but still make hell lot of silly mistakes :/
Idk how to do them without making mistakes in 1hr time limit.... They require much thinking and alertness...
Can u help me out with some qstns of that ppr?
Like Q6,7,10,15,16,19,24,25,26,29 although I did 29 correct but that was random guess

Like i said completely focus for 1 hour.Shut away things like mobiles and other distractors.And time your paper.Learn to cope under pressure and soon your brain will adapt

Phy P1: There are 7-8 'free' questions (Units, phases of matter,nuclear). Make sure you don't make a mistake in these. Some concepts are tested again and again with slight variations like Young Modulus, thermistors, inelastic collisions etc so look for patterns in the questions. Remember the formulas so you don't waste time recalling them.

Chem P1: I'm not taking Chem P1 this session but I found this as the hardest AS paper along with Phy P2 in my subjects (Maths, Phy & Chem). Again there are concepts which are repeated (Isomers,, type of organic reaction, ionization energy etc). Several concepts can be included in one question so learn how to tackle these questions. The last 10 are the hardest so make sure you leave enough time for these. Alternatively, you can do these at the start.

Always mark any question which you are not 100% sure of. When you are done with the paper review these and those which you got wrong. Look at the question that why did you get it wrong and how you need to avoid the mistake. Nearly all mistakes fall into four categories:
1. Content issue: You didn't know what to do as you didn't know the material.
Way to avoid these: Look up the material from where it was tested.
2. Comprehension issue: You weren't sure what the question was asking.
Way to avoid these: Re-read the question and underline the key points.
3. Time issue: You were running out of time.
Way to avoid these: If you're spending way more time on a question, skip it. Come back to it at the end and try to interpret the question what exactly is it asking.
4. Careless errors: These are the most frustrating ones.
Way to avoid these: Re-check all your answers at the end including the supposedly easy ones.

The first few questions on a topic are usually easy. Don't waste too much time on the difficult ones so you have to guess on the easier ones.
Usually all the information provided is important to answer a question. If you're doing a question without all of the information, you're probably wrong.
If you feel you don't remember many things to answer questions, do 1-2 papers with your notes/book open, but not more than this. This way you'll get the idea which things are usually essential to answer questions.
Don't waste too much time filling the answers but also make sure they are properly filled in. The best way I found to do this was to fill the answer in chunks. After doing all the questions from one page, I filled all the answers from that page and so on. Also, make sure you have filled the right answer for the right questions, especially when you have skipped a question. Otherwise, this can result in a great loss of marks.
