    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

easy, since CA is parallel to x-axis, then we will know that y-coordinate for A is 2. then in order for OABC to be a trapezium, CB must be parallel to OA, just let gradient BC = gradient OA, then you will be able to find the coordinates for A.

    is like this: s = (1/6)gt^2 (given from question) s = ut+(1/2)at^2 (what we normally know) since it start at rest, therefore u=0, s = (1/2)at^2 , compare with the given s = (1/6)gt^2, we will find that a = g/3 then the force acting on the box is: mg-R=ma R=mg-ma R = mg - m(g/3) R =...

Needs help to some Mechanics questions

just giving idea, number 1 2nd part: is already given the horizontal resultant force is 9N, so you just need to find the vertical resultant force, then find the magnitude of resultant force of this 2 forces.

Statistics 1: Post Your Doubts Here

    let me try, 1st part... the Z-value for 0.9 is 1.281, P(X>5.2)=0.9 P(Z>-1.281)=0.9 therefore,. -1.281= (5.2 - 2x) / x (x represent standard deviation since i don't know how to make the std deviation symbol appear.) x = 7.23 2nd part... Let m represent mean, s represent standard...

Needs help to some Mechanics questions

    1st, find a, the acceleration, since v=3, u=7, s=2 then a=-10, then, 0-R=ma R=-(0.1)(-10) = 1N

the coefficient of 2 in 2xe^(3x) is because of integration by parts: Letting u=6x, du = 6 dv=e^(3x), v=(1/3)e^(3x) then uv = (6x)(1/3)e^(3x), = 2xe^(3x) and the vdu you calculate yourselves......

is not the best maths book that matters, I saw many students using the same maths book but get different results, the question is..... Are YOU the best student ?? A best book won't make the student to become the best student, A best student will make every books to become the best book.

Guys simple indices question, need help.

(3^2) x (2^3) = (9) x (8) = 72 since the number below the power is 3 and 2 respectively, they are not same number, so you can't just simply add their power together, you hafta do it separately

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

    1st part, just find the dy/dx , then let dy/dx=0, find x x= 0.6065 2nd part, do integration by parts, by letting u= ln x , dv = x^(1/2)

Needs help to some Mechanics questions

    1st hafta find the acceleration: 70N - T = 7a T - 20N = 2a therefore, a=50/9 then u=0, s=1m (because 2kg block went up 1m, 7kg block went down 1m, so totally 2m apart.) v^2 = 0 + 2(50/9)(1) v = 3.33

    no11) F(T) will be the integration of 2/(t-1)^3 for t from 2 to t. we will get F(T)= 1 - (1/(t-1)) , for t>2 to find P(T>5) = 1 - P(T<5) = 1 - F(5) = 3/4

for the 2nd question, just change the (sin3x sinx) inside the integration to (1/2)(cos2x-cos4x), then intergrate it, and put the corresponding value into x, you will get the answer.

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

    the 1st one: (1/2)(cos2x-cos4x) =(1/2)( cos(3x-x) - cos(3x+x) ) =(1/2)( cos3x cosx + sin3x sinx - (cos3x cosx - sin3x sinx ) ) =(1/2)( 2 sin3x sinx ) = sin3x sinx

    answer for no4) by differentiating equation of displacement, speed = t + 0.1t^2 when t=10, speed = 10 + 0.1(10^2) = 20m equation of acceleration: a = 1+0.2t when t=0, a=1m/s^2 , this one is initial acceleration 2x1 = 1 + 0.2t t=5s
