In my A level college, only sometimes, but in O level yeah almost always. But no-one usually does past paper practice before the mocks.

haha ok. Do you think you scored the same marks i.e in 70s for all the subjects i mentioned in CIEs too. And it was percentile which gave you the As or A*s?

I have no clue how the CIE guys marked my papers. Some of them were really good, I got A* in those (probably the equivalent of 85+ in the mock papers) but some papers were kinda bad, like English and Chemistry but I still managed to get an A*/A in those.. so I'd say the CIE marking is a bit more lenient. The percentiles probably gave me the good grades.

Honestly just practice past papers to the extent that you get like 80+ % in them and you should be good to go. In Chemistry I made lots of blunders in P2 and P4, and for P1 I guessed like 10 MCQs, lol.

Ohh...damn it...seriously 10 mcqs along with blunders in p2 and p4 and still an A. Thats a relief. Any specific mistakes in Physics, Comp.st and Maths?

Sorry, forgot to reply. :s Actually, those 3 were my best papers and were very good by my standards so I did expect an A* in them. But they must have been high A*s I think.

Ahan...cool. How did your friends do in these papers? The ones who messed up phy, chem, math or comp.st ? Or the ones who were very average or even below avg at school?

Most of those who did good in school (and also told me they did good after the papers) got A/A* and some average ones got As while other average ones got Bs, just like you would expect. Just a few of my friends got Cs but they never really performed well in school.

they start on 10th this month and will end on 8th next month! Just before giving ur final CIEs, when you attempted past papers, how many marks did u use to lose?

I did really well in CS, Physics, Maths and Addmath past papers but average in Chemistry (like 70ish%) and my Chemistry paper went pretty average too (I must have barely gotten an A I think). Hard to tell in English because the same type of essays that gave me 20ish-24ish out of 30 in school gave me an A* in the CIE paper.

How well did you use to do in CS, Maths and Physics? Like 80% or 90%ish. 90%ish in CS is possible but what 'bout the other two?

Nah, I don't really get bugged by anything. In Maths I used to get like 65-70 in P1 and 80ish in P2, but I did much better than that in the CIE paper I think. For physics usually 75-90%. And CS was always 90+.

Nope, I never took tuitions. I personally think they are a waste of time, but others will probably disagree with me.
