    maths and chemistry: edexcel or cambridge?

    Cambridge all the way; many unis in the UK automatically reject you/ shall put you on their waiting list should they see your exam board is Edexcel/AQA/OCR. Before anyone goes and calls me a CIE fanatic, I got hold of this info from my chemistry teacher who was part of Imperial's application...

    No, I did my AS this year, so I'll only be applying. On-topic: The OP has made an extremely good point: in my AS I got 4 A's and two B's, but I know I could've started studying harder a lot sooner than 5 weeks before the exams, and I'm sure my grades would've been 90+ instead of low eighties...

    CIE chemistry is harder, but if you have any intention to go to UK universities, do CIE, because if you do Edexcel sciences, they'll automatically reject you =( Hope this helps.

    One thing: you guys aren't serious about the threshold for A being 25 - 34 are you? I certainly hope it's an Xtremepapers forums joke I'm missing :p No way it'd be that low, for any subject xD

    It was A, glucose only, because the straight chain sugar they gave us in the diagram was a hexose; ribose and deoxyribose are both pentose sugars, hence it can't be either of them. Hope this helps.
