hey I have a doubt in october 2008 paper2 step number 10 the summary part
please step by step
4m step 8:-
u have 3 tables dat uve imported: N8EMPLOY, N8QUAL and N8JOB.
1. step 8 says dat u need 4m all data only details of emp. whose qualification is NVQ L1, NVQ L2, NVQ L3 or NVQ L4. ---> u need 2 filter d info 2 get dis, so its a query first.
2. select any of d tables, go 2 d "Create" tab, select "Query Wizard", "Simple Query Wizard". Then enter all fields 4m each table. [c {scrn1} attachment]
3. Next, Next, select <Modify query design> radio button, Finish
4. beneath "Qualification" (in d design view) in d row named "Criteria", type 'NVQ*' (coz its askin 4 NVQ 4llowed by L1,2,3,4; so u just add an asteric, it does d wrk)
5. Save d query n close it
6. mk sure d query dt u just completed is selected. go 2 d "Create" tab, select "Query Wizard", "Crosstab Query Wizard", in 'View' select "Queries" n select d query dat u just made. Next
7. it asks wt u need as row headings. qn says Description must b row heading, so double click on Description in d 'Available Fields'. Next
8. Column headings. qn says Qualification, so double click on Qualification. Next
9. wt u need 2 noe is employees in d same job category<qn>. so u need 2 select JobCode 4 d database 2 Count. Next. Finish.
10. u need a report. go 2 "Create" tab, "Report Wizard", enter all fields, Next, Finish.
11. by default, the report is displayed in print preview. close it. u c d design view now. in d "Report Header",change the title to 'Number of NVQ qualifications'<qn>.
12. u also need 2 enter ur name, centre no. n candidate no. so add a "Label" 4m d "Design" tab in d "Report design Tools" and draw a label beneath d title. type d required data n save d report.

ps all dis is done in MS Access.

  1. Open the file CARMODEL.RTF
  2. Highlight the text "Date here" and go 2 Insert tab, in the Text section, Date and Time. Select d date n tym dat u want, unless specified. Remove the highlighting. Press 'Enter'.
  3. Go 2 Mailings tab, in Start Mail Merge select Start Mail Merge. 4m d dropdown menu, Step by step Mail Merge wizard. u get a toolbar on d right of ur view on d window.
  4. Default selection: Letters. go Next: Starting document. Next: Select recipients. select Browse 2 select d file CARJAN.CSV. a new window will open n in it, click 'OK'.
  5. Next: Write ur letter.
  6. Select "Customer name n address here" n delete it. 4m d toolbar on ur right, select 'Address Block' n click OK. {AddBlock.png<---ATTACHMENT}
  7. Select "Customer name here" n click on 'More items' 4m d toolbar. Insert 'Forename' and 'Surname'. Click Close, then add a space btwn forenm n surnm. highlight them n remove d coloured highlighting. insert a comma after them
  8. Now getting 2 inserting d paragraph..... Select d highlighted text. Go 2 Mailings tab, in d sxn Write&Insert Fields select Rules. 4m d dropdown menu, select If...Then...Else...
  9. in d Field name: select d field Price (that is wt u hv 2 compare). in Comparision: select Less than. under Compare to: type 7000 (1st bullet in qn).
  10. right click wr ur cursor is n select Toggle Field Codes. {ToggledFC.png<---Attachment}
  11. get ur cursor btwn d 1st inverted commas. go 2 Insert tab. in Text -- Quick Parts. Field. under Field names select IncludeText. in d middle of d window under Filename or URL: enter d path of d doc Small.rtf dat uve saved in ur comp. eg. C:\Users\RCTT\Downloads\Small.rtf (b careful 2 end wid Small.rtf, d way uv saved it)
  12. after d end of d 1st set of inverted commas, press 'Enter'
  13. get ur cursor btwn d 2nd set of inverted commas. repeat step 11 n enter d path of Large.rtf. n press OK
  14. if u want 2 view ur letters, click Next: Preview your letters on d toolbar.
  15. Save d document.

4m d qn ppr, i could ony say dis:
in d sheet wid all ur data, mk a new column n add d formula =IF(A4>=5,{respective-route-cell-reference},0)

if u dnt get it, plz post d src files n i'll try iA. :)
u can also post ur qns in d link given if u want
