my question is why not D?

hey nice question.
the answer is D. it cannot be B, then it shud be there mistake..
A uniform field is a region which exerts a force of equal magnitude in that region. an electric field acting in all directions will weaken due to the
equipotentials. and an electric field acting in all directions means its a field produced by a charged particle.
i guess dats da reason.

A- 569 V
B- 1140 V
C- 2280 V
D- 4560 V

how to do this?

kinetic energy(1/2mv^2) =work done(eV) u know the mass of electron and also the velocity which is given in the question...and e=1.60*10^-19 hence u can find potential difference(V) ;) i hope i am right!! the answer is:B(1140 which is similar to the exact answer 1138.6)

KE =1/2 mv^2 i.e 1/2 x 9.11x10^-31 x2e7^2 = 1.8x10^-16

KE = eV
Therefore, 1.8E-16/ 1.6E-19 = 1138.75

ive got it now!

to convert from eV to V, we have to divide it by 1 Electronvolt, right?
Listen.eV is charge of electron into the voltage.therefore voltage is KE/charge on electron i.e 1.6x10^-19

i think the answer is B!

first of all, use W=FS!
then substitute F with F=EQ, which is derived from E=F/Q!
now you have W=EQS!
then substitute E with E=V/d!
now the equation is "W=(V/d)*Q*S"
now,
V is as it is
d is also as it is,
Q is q,
S is x!

now the final answer is (V/d)*q*x

so, what is the answer given in the marking scheme?
