Some pak universities like NUST and IBA exempt those who meet a minimum score requirement in the SAT I from their entrance test but seats for candidates applying on the basis of SAT is also limited. So can one apply to pak universities both on the basis of SAT and the entrance test to improve the chances of his/her admission?? Really need help in this matter!!!

the information below is based upon the assumption that you are a student who has done his A-levels

no .. but u should still ask the unis... each uni has a different policy.. btw do the universities say they have limited seats for applicants with SAT1 or have you heard it from someone?... but looking at your university choice looks like you really still have not decided your career field..that is good because at this age there is no way you can know anything about the work done in the field.. and if you ask any one who is working their advice will always be either "YES YES studies are VERY important" .. OR "Nah just doesn't apply its useless" but what they never do is give you real concrete options/steps about what you should do because like young kids most adults do not know where their life is headed while being stuck in dry dead jobs but boy do they like to brag 'ITNA KAAM HAI ITNAA" and that is why only a few people climb the corporate ladder

now back to your uni choice .. NUST being primarily on the engineering side and IBA for business students

however, if you are thinking that Management Sciences (also called operations research) will let u move towards the business side .. then yes but only to an extent because the quantitative knowledge gained in Management Sciences is more applicable to the production side or some very sophisticated process oriented services businesses (think Six Sigma) which in Pakistan you will not be able to find as such ... a easier way would be to do a B.Com privately .. get a job at the same time... then apply for an MBA at IBA (saves money, gives you work experience and to some extent saves your time)... because whether it is BBA or MBA at unis in Pakistan teach you pretty much nothing applicable to real work life...however, if you are really interested in learning management sciences details then apply for the UOL International Program

or if it is Computer Sciences you want to go for... then which side of Computer Sciences you want to go for will depend upon how much you wan to earn... as for the so called robotics side 'our universities cannot teach enough sophisticated engineering because of the lack of expertise available and the lack of funding.. you will learn nothing that will apply in the real world... remember Academia is a world of fantasy and its exciting... where professors usually try to get you excited about whatever project you are doing... the real world work experience is dry, repetitive and unimaginative... so even for computer sciences i would still suggest a B.com, learn Computer languagesusing torrents (one for developing applications: Java, C, C++, python; one for networking: wml, html, jquery, javascript and another for database management: SQL, xml; also learn OpenErp and SAP via trainings available in Paksitan) and work somewhere, then do an MBA in MIS... because remember Software Engineers are not revered over here because Pakistan is not IT aware/educated enough

if you want to specialize in Accounting/Finance ... then simply do your ACCA provided you are disciplined and can maintain your daily routine on your own... however, a job and an ACCA at the same time is a good combination.. tough but good for the long term...

as for economics .. don't .. its useless the way they teach it in Pakistan

btw the 'job' that i am mentioning will involve pretty much a LOT of leg work and a LOT of 'yes sir' ... and learning Excel helps a LOT.. so learn it .. use torrents to download the excel videos ... btw the whole "live your dreams" and "enjoy your job" concept is a LIE... there!! i destroyed your innocence .. now buck up and make some money.. btw the 'paisa sub kuch nahi hai' idea is another LIE... try sleeping on a floor, eating once every 2 days and working for 10 hours a day for four months in a row... NOT pleasant... financial dependency is a sin... financial independence is awesome
